I bought one of the original 2 berth Quick Pitches and found it a little small for anything more than a weekend so when the DS4 appeared, I went for it. I wasn’t disappointed.

The addition of the flysheet means that, whilst it takes longer to put the tent up, there’s no worry about touching either end when its raining nor getting the end of your sleeping bag wet when you open the door. It also makes the tent incredibly stable, as noticed by some friends of mine during a very wet and windy week in Yorkshire. All the other small tents were flapping or even bending and mine just rippled a little!

Space-wise its very roomy for 1, with a decent height (I’m 5′6″)and plenty of space for a single airbed and kit but would be pretty comfortable for 2 and a double bed also.

If you’ve never had this type of tent before, it can be a bit like the Krypton Factor to fold it down but, once you get the knack, its quick and simple and, yes, it is something of a spectator sport as other campers always seem intrigued, or is that envious?

All in all a spacious, dry, stable tent that’s easy to put up/take down and pretty much does what it says on the tin.

Don’t open it in your living f=room unless

you have a massive amount of space..

Nearly cost me my new telly!

was slagged off for spending more than £50

on a tent but when it came to building it up

it was well worth the money, mates faces were

tripping them that i was done in 2 mins.

This tent was easy to pitch and my concern was it would be difficult to put away again it folded straight away and into the bag while others where still taking the tent pegs out – it rained during the night and it was perfectly dry. Would recommend to anyone looking for a weekend tent.

The pop-up feature is really great. The first time I put it up, including the fly sheet, it took around 20 – 30 mins. I’m confident that I’ll be quicker next time. I used it over 4 nights at a festival. There was no rain the whole time (yippee!) so I’ve not been able to test how waterproof it is. One night however all tents were covered in condensation. The inside of this tent stayed totally dry. As others have said, putting it away is more tricky than putting it up, but once you get your technique right, it’s not that hard. I was the only person in it. I used a double airbed and there was plenty room for my rucksack and other camping gear down the side. Personally I think the most that could comfortably stay in this tent is two. I liked that the carry-bag has handy internal storage pockets for the pegs and poles. Also the instructions are sewn into the carry bag, ensuring that they will never be lost. It was really easy to carry and not heavy at all. You should probably be aware that the shape of the tent in the carry bag is like a big disc, about a meter in diameter. Recommended for easy summer camping.
