As an inexperienced camper I bought this (from another supplier) for a festival which I’m travelling to by public transport. I bought a 3-man tent as I wanted a bit more space and thought I’d set it up in my local park for practise, as I live in a flat.
The bag was fairly compact but is quite heavy. It has double holdall-like straps so could be worn over a shoulder or held by your side. The tent seems to be of good quality.
I got up early on Sunday to avoid too many strange looks and searched for a section of grass free of dog poo. The instructions were reasonably clear and are handily sewn inside the bag. I laid out the poles and threaded them through the tent ok, but bending them on my own to attach them to the pegs was difficult though I did it eventually. It would be a lot easier with two people. A hammer or similar might be handy for the pegs, too. I didn’t actually set up the inner tent as my morale was dampened by various dog poos which were hiding under leaves. I decided to leave it to the day of the festival when I’d have some help. I had three attempts at packing it back in the bag, but it was very difficult and I only managed it eventually by not putting the poles back in. Perhaps there’s a knack to this that I have yet to discover but there are no hints in the instructions. Probably just need to practise.
So, perhaps not an entirely useful review but first impressions are that it’s quite good, but bear in mind it’s not an easy one to set up on your own (well, I found that).

We recently upgraded to this tent after years of using a smaller dome tent – the Beta 350 is perfect for a long weekend camping. The build quality is fantastic, easy to pitch and very spacious inside. It held well in heavy downpours this weekend and provides a comfy camping experience. Recommended!

I bought this tent for camping last summer and was dissapointed. The fibreglass poles were very weak and several pieces split sideways whilst in use during some less than favourable weather (heavy rain and strong winds).Vango did replace the poles free of charge and assured me that it was a manufacturing fault, however I have now upgraded to a more sturdy tent that I can trust!
Pro’s: Light, spacious and easy to set up, the sleeping area remained dry even during heavy downpours.
Cons: Weak poles, and due to the open groundsheet in the living area, everything in that section gets wet when it rains, which reduces its usefulness as storage space.
I would not recommend this tent unless you only intend light use in very sheltered conditions. The quality is reflected by price, don’t expect it to compare to models costing much more.
